Controlling width/size of search field

My custom search includes a field requiring autocomplete, whcih I set up like this:

{name:'client', index:'client', width:250 },

     gridComplete: function() {
        $("#sg_client").autocomplete({
          source: "wc.dll?PSProcess~AutoCompleteCV~&t=&sk=32813NJUF01904&sh=55" ,
          minLength: 3,
          select: function(event, ui) {
              $("#sg_client").val(ui.item.label);
            },
          change: function(event,ui) {
              if(!ui.item) {
                  $("#sg_client").val(' ');
                }
            }
        }) ;
        }

And this works beautifully, except that I cannot change the width of the field in the search form. SearchOptions do not work for custom search forms so I cannot use that.

Any way to do this?

Figured this one out myself -- just had to stop thinking that jqGrid controlled everything. I added a sinlge line, like this,

     gridComplete: function() {
         $("#sg_client").width(200);
        $("#sg_client").autocomplete({

...

Not so hard, really, once the idea occurs to you.
