jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Hello all.

I am trying out jqgrid and I am having a problem with the drop downs that appear when I perform a search.  When the search window appears, the dropdowns for the field and search operator are very narrow and truncate the respective values.  When you click on the dropdowns, they do show everything, but on initial load, they are way to narrow.  Is there a way to expand these values?

I am using the theme Redmond.

For the js search options I have specified {width: 600}, but this just changes the width of the modal search dialog, not the fields within it.

Any help is appreciated.
