blank grid when XML encoding changed

Hello,

Due to the fact that i have some french characters in my DB i changed the encoding of the XML output generated with php to "windows-1252". The XML is generated and displayed correctly but when i try to load it into the jqgrid i have a blank grid with no error!

When using UTF-8 as encoding for the XML the grid is populated ok,with the values from the DB.

Why do i get a blank grid??

i'am using jqgrid as a javascript.

ok...i have found the problem.

Must set the transaction type to "utf-8" when retreiving data from SQL server.
