jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Basically I was looking a way to add a parameter to the server site module who receives data from editurl. I have a main grid Client, and has subgrid as jqgriid contact. When adding a new contact I would like to pass clientID as well.  . Any

I added the following code in the SubGrid block:

onclickSubmit: function(eparams) {
alert('SubGrid submitted');

 //Add Client ID as paramaeter
 var client = {clientId:row_id };
  return client;
                }
but it has never be called. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
