Hello, The demos posted on the jqgrid site are MySQL-specific, so I thought it might be helpful if the same demos were usable with PostgreSQL 8.2+ without everyone having to do the porting of the PHP code themselves.  I tested the code using jqgrid 3.4.3, PHP 5.2.8, Firefox 3.0.8 and PostgreSQL 8.2.  I am happy to donate this small effort to tony and his team, and will do so as soon as I figure out (or am told) how to attach the file(s).

In addition to porting to PostgreSQL, I clarified a number of comments (I am a native English-speaker) and fixed a couple of things that caused warnings in the Firefox 3.0.8 console.  I was not able to fix all the warnings, and I never did figure out how to how to get the demo that used a large (12,000 rows) table to work (did not know how to populate the table).

A better solution to the database issue would be to use a portable database access library, but I do not know of a freely-usable one that works very well.  Nonetheless, I hope someone finds the PostgreSQL port useful.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you very much for this contribution. I have recieved your update and will include it in the next release.

About porable database access library. There is such library. IMHO it is one of the most used and supported. I have discover this library before 5 years and use it very well in my projects. You can look at http://adodb.sourceforge.net/

Another possible  solution is PHP PDO http://www.php.net/pdo

Best Regards and Thanks again

Tony
