What is the correct syntax for using the url property for a remote server?

This (from my first grid example)  works fine of me url:'example.php',

but what if my database is on a different server?
I have tried varients of url:'http//myserver/example.php", url: 'myserver.com/example.php'
and they dont seem to work.

When I moved my html file, along with the jqgrid directory over to the same server as example.php then everything just worked.
Thanks

Hello,

Cross domail ajax requests are not allowed by defign.

Please read this – there is a lot of documentation.

Insead you can use this using jsonp datatype – read jQuery and jqGrid docs. jqGrid support this type.

Thanks Tony.

That makes perfect sense.  JQgrid is a great product, by the way.
