Never try with JSON, but I think you should try the same way as XML

Thanks, guess I'll try CDATA?

Another question, can the grid format fields?  For example, I want the grid to display a dollar amount when viewing, but when I click on the row for editing, the data is a floating point.

Only for viewing is it ever going to be displayed as a dollar amount.

You should not use CDATA in JSON, just regular string maybe.

As for the second, currently you can display the data (note

that the format should be returned from the server), but when

editing it is as is.
