I am using jqGrid with the filter toolbar on a client project. However, the type of filter my client wants is the equivalent of a LIKE in SQL. I know that I can provide one 'sopt' option for each column and it will be used in the filter toolbar. The contains is almost exactly what I need. However, my client wants records that partially match the keyword provided to show up in the filtered results.

Is there anyway to extend jqGrid to add a the 'like' functionality that I am looking for? How would I go about extending jqGrid.

Did you have consult the documentation?

Did yo mean local data or data obtained from SQL server? It is not kwon.

Hey Tony! Thanks for the reply. It is local data, and I did consult the wiki documentation. It turns out that the 'contains' will work. Thanks for your help.
