jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I recently upgraded Jqgrid from 3.7.2 to 4.4.4  

Assume

Currently displaying page is 3,

and if want to goto page 5 and type 5 and press enter

In the

onPaging: function(pgButton) { 

 $('#myGrid').getGridParam("page")  ==>> returns 3.  Instead how can I get user entered value 5. It was working properly in jqgrid 3.7.2

}

Any suggestions and workarounds ????
