I have a grid which is using virtual scrolling to load data . Everything works as expected, but I can't make it load ahead with the npage parameter from prmNames. The info in documentation is ambiguos. What type of data is it, how does it work? I gave it some int values from 1 to 10 but it doesn't have any effect.

Hello, I am trying to remove an event from a field, and I know not how. I am using jqGrid. I have a form field that is read-only, but in which I can click with the cursor. What I want is that the user can not click on the field, the same thing happens when you disable a select, do not let not even click on it. I've been looking online, examples to disable the event, with

event.preventDefault () or. unbind ("click"),

but I have not received results. I do not know even if I have to disable the event, or is there some property that allows me to do what I want. For example, if I want I can change the style attribute or property access style:

$ ('# FlightNumber', formid). attr ('style', 'border: # AFAFAF; color: # 6D6D6D');

if you want to hide the field:

jQuery ('# tr_flightNumber', formid). hide ();

I do not know how to do what I want.
Could someone help me out? The field in question is of type textfield.

Thank you very much, greetings

I think, previouis post is vague to understand the problem. So, i'm trying to explain with more details.

I have a page with tabs. In each tab, i'm loading the jQGrid. When switching to different tabs, previous tab grid is destoyed by following method.

$('#jqTable').jqGrid('GridDestroy');
But still, memory is not reclaimed completely. I am seeing some memory leaks every time when i am destroying and loading new grid.
So, to reclaim memory completely, what should I do?

NOTE: Problem in IE Version.

Thanks
Ayyanar

Hi,

Requirement:

I have vertical (LHS) and its related horizontal tab (RHS) menu. For every RHS tab click, i have to call back end and load the JQ Grid. When switching to new RHS tab, old RHS tab grid will be stored in DIV (seperate div for storing grid) data.

When switching to new LHS tab, all RHS tab data of previous LHS tab should be cleared.

Issue:

whenever switching to new LHS tab, i am removing event and data of all RHS tab of previous LHS. When i am clearing, memory is not reclaimed. So, every LHS click, memory is getting increased. I want to reduce the memory usage for every LHS click.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Hello,

This not correct. Just call clearGridData WITHOUT to use trigger("reloadGrid");

While the data is deleted you reload the data again which causes the problem.

Insted if you want to use reloading you will need to call reloading only within setTimeout function.

Regards

Also, is there any method to delete all the rows from the grid. currently we are using $grid.clearGridData().trigger("reloadGrid") ? While we are using clearGridData() method, browser throws the below warning:

Stop running this script?

Hi!

You should use data option of jqGrid and create the grid with all the data in one operation. Usage of addRowData is slower bacause it insert the data in the grid row after the row. Every inserting of the row follows recalculation of position of all other exsiting element on the page or at least to reflow (see here for more details).

Usage of data option event without virtual scrolling (without scroll: true) should get you much performance impronement. It's important to continut to use gridview: true which you already use now.

If you need to update contain on existing grid you can use getGridParam("data") to get the reference to the internal data parameter, then you can change it by direct assignment and trigger reloadGrid event.

Best regards
Oleg

Hi All,

As a project requirement, there are 5 grids in a page. I tried by loading one JQ grid using Array data load with 1000 records containing 1 checkbox column and 7 text columns.

For loading 1000 records, JQ grid takes 3 seconds in 4GB RAM system and 20 seconds in 2GB RAM system

Is there any configuration can be done, in order to reduce the load time?

Highly appreciate your value add comments & suggestions.

var JQGridTest = JQGridTest || {};

Hello,

This setting is by default, so the grid has nothing to do.

1. Set the caheset with meta tag in your html page

<meta charset="utf-8">

2. When the data comes from the server be a sure you send a header with utf-8.

In PHP before to output the data do:

header("Content-type: text/xml;charset=utf-8″);

Regards
