If I were you, I'd grab one of the simpler samples, convert the HTML page to a JSP, and then start playing with it.

Can you tell me where to find a simple example on storing data from jqGrid?

Thanks

Having programmed in Java for over 10 years, I can tell you that using this in a JSP is no different than using it in PHP (from a logical point of view). This control, and jQuery for that matter, work perfectly well in both languages. With that said, why are you not going the route of JSF instead of JSP? There are many libraries that feature very rich controls (richfaces for one) that have tighter integration with Java than jqGrid -- which is a far more generic control usable in practically any language that can produce HTML. If I were you, I'd grab one of the simpler samples, convert the HTML page to a JSP, and then start playing with it.
