Local form editing is not easy but it is possible in the current version of jqGrid (3.8.2). Look at the demo which I recently prepared.

Best regards
Oleg

well I found the clientArray setting that works OK for inline stuff... but I would really like to set this globally so that I can use form edits also...but have them only add to the grid and NOT attempt to post back to server...

I want to use this grid for a lot of different things one of which is as a stricly locally. Essentially I would like to just disable the submit / save functionality but still have all the built-in editing features like form and in-line.

I would like some advice / pointers on the best way to go about doing this. Currently I can hack around this by getting smart with some of the form edit events and just ignoring / blocking the error txt... using the onclickSubmit, etc...

Now the in-line edit mode does not seem to have as rich an event structure and I really want this feature. WHat I am really looking for is the ability to make several changes to the grid all at once, then submitting all of those through my own service call when the user presses another button. ... or they can refresh...
