The text "Loading…" stays till jqGrid load the grid and fill the grid. If jqGrid process wrong input data then an exception can take place. In the case the div with "Loading…" text stay forever displayed.

You should verify format of input data (the server response). The opion jsonReader, xmlReader or localReader should corresponds to the format of the input data. See the documentation.
