I think the missing detail is to pass an array of dom elements to your grid_options pager value. Ie, create two pager divs, wherever you want them, give them a class of pager then set the grid_options such that { pager: $(".pager") }. Worked for me.

Sorry, I guess I'm confusing the toolbar with the pager. I need two pagers (the bar with records-per-page drop-down, first/last/next/previous buttons, etc.).

Yes.

Add a toolbar anchored to the top and a pager anchored to the bottom.

The examples show code for both of these. Just combine them and you should be good to go.
