Not sure what you mean, but you can use dataUrl parameter in editoptions - see docs.

I'm having a problem with JqGrid.  when i try to add a new record, I have a dropdown menu for a field that is supposed to retrieve values from a database.  But the values are hardcoded.  Can you guys help me out?  I'm using Zend framework, jqGrid  3.3.2 and the datatype for the javascript is xml.
