Thanks for this. We already have converted all events in cell and inline edit so that we can use this to refer to grid. The next module is form editing.

I think it will be done in the final 3.8

Is there a way to refer to the grid object from within the beforeInitData and beforeShowForm events in a similar way that we can do it from the beforeSubmit event (using the this pointer).

I know that one can use the selector $('#grid') given the name of the grid id but the code I am writing is general and I may not know the grid id.

Hope my question is clear.
