The fix is similar to what khall100 posted except he/she only said it was an obvious that the css path was incorrect. The solution is to make sure that ui.jqgrid.css is in the path. That took care of the overlay issue.

As an aside to future folks who post: NO solution is ever obvious. ALWAYS post back exactly what you did to fix the issue rather than post "Oh, I figured it out, thanks" which is NOT helpful to anyone who has a similar issue no matter how trivial or simple your fix might be.

Sorry for the rant. Clearly posting solutions is really helpful in a forum like this.

I can't figure out what is going on. I have a tabbed form, each tab has a grid. In 3.4.4 I had no problems with changing tabs and displaying each grid. But after the upgrade, as soon as the first tab is displayed with the grid, there is a “greyed out” layer that covers the entire page and none of the controls on the page can be accessed, including the tabs.

When I inspect the element with Firebug I see this:

The ui-widget-overlay seems to be the source of the problem.

I have applied everything that is available in Github.

How do I fix this?
