Problem solved! My jQuery function was in a custom PHP file inside of Joomla. Joomla uses mootools. I had to use jQuery.noConflict for my code to play nice with mootools. Hope this help someone else.

Tony, thanks for responding but i am not sure what you mean by "return false when Enter key is pressed". I apologize i am not very experienced at this.

Not sure, but this is not a jqGrid problem. Try to return false when a Enter key is pressed and search is performed.

Howdy folks, noob looking for some help.

To see the problem, go to my site http://www.utiliwiz.com , enter zip code 75207 and click the lookup button.

Try it in IE or Firefox, then try it in Safari or Chrome.

I have tried searching the forums but not had much luck. Am hoping some of the experts on the forums will be able to recognize the symptoms and point me in the right direction.
