Lock in primary sort

I've deployed the jqgrid plugin in a fairly typical way, using xml and a handful of typical features. I'm using version 3.7.2.

I'd like to allow the end-user to sort the data by clicking on column headers, but I'd like to force the PRIMARY sort on every sort event. In other words, I'd like to allow the user to change the SECONDARY sort by clicking on column headers, but the primary sort would stay the same.

Any suggestions?

Multi-Sorting feature is a nice feature, but it is not yet exist in jqGrid. On the main page you can vote for "Sort by multiple columns". Recently I wrote the answer http://stackoverflow.com/quest.....-to-jqgrid. If it was not your question the information could be probably interesting for you, but it contain no solution.

Probably if Tony look at your question he will answer when the feature could be implemented.
