Tony,

We were getting the same problems as in the screenshot posted by CHVCS above. ie - grey overlay above grid.

We have resolved it now by changing jqModal.js. This line:

open:function(s,t){var h=H[s],c=h.c,cc='.'+c.closeClass,z=(parseInt(h.w.css('z-index'))),z=(z>0)?z:3000,o=$('<div></div>').css({height:'100%',width:'100%',position:'fixed',left:0,top:0,'z-index':z-1,opacity:c.overlay/100});if(h.a)return F;h.t=t;h.a=true;h.w.css('z-index',z);

We changed position:'fixed' to position:'absolute'.

Hi,

I'm having exactly this problem, and unfortunately, working on a large, fairly old application, I have to stick to quirks mode. Is there a way I can enable the dialog to display properly? If not, is there an easy way to disable the dialog and use my own instead?

1. I'm not 100% sure, but the default mode of IE is quirks mode. Set it to any other diffrent from this.

2. A good is to do so in your head section.

and css with relative

In FF it's all right. Only with IE (6 & 7) has problem (no javascript error is show). To certify that Modal and css are loading i try change background-colors, and... change.

(the JSON file is static, only for test, without sort)

i m using 3.4.3 with jquery 1.3.2

In IE 6 & 7, search box stay on top of screen, a div with gray color is show, the table is roll down in the page. When i close, the table up.

I try change in JQModal.css
* html .jqmWindow {
background-color: #FF0000;
position: absolute;

to RELATIVE. the box down with the table, but still a gray box on top

I clear cache, but, nothing fix.

The examples in http://trirand.com/jqgrid/jqgrid.html is perfect.

Please, what am i doing wrong?
