multi-columnar dropdown, where in which, we should be able to search/filter on any column 

and select a record (not multiple). 

Since we are very new to jqGrid, we wonder can we use jqGrid as dropdown grid that we are looking for 

because the majarity requirements like dynamically filling data,showing multi-coulmn data,

searching/filtering and events for selecting the row etc., are readily available. This we will be using in 

many forms. So can we have a plug-in type of thing which we can use in many places in the project.

We know about subgrids but looking for JqGrid itself as a separate dropdown.


Any Idea, sample code or guidelines is extremely appriciated.
