I also faced the same issue with chrome i.e select2 jumping up on selection of a choice.

After changing 

margin, height and width of .select2-offscreen to 0px in select2.css, it worked fine for me.

If you have used select2 successfully along with jqGrid, please let me know the results.

I tried a simple test, unfortunately I need to set the height of the row and also I am facing issues with select2 elements jumping up after selecting a value in chrome browser, works fine in forefox.
