Yes you missed this feature. The feature is named formatter, available in jqGrid 3.4 beta. Check the readme how to use.

I'm just beginning with this grid, and it looks great. I have one important question though. How can I do some custom rendering for a grid? For example I'll need to display images on a cell, links in another, text with red background in another etc.

I see I could use the AfterRowInserted event...but something like a "custom reder" function would be much preferable. If you want to borrow an external idea, here is how other guys offer this function: http://www.sigmawidgets.com/pr.....image.html

Is there already something similar and I just missed it?
