A do not think that multiselect option is connected to your problem.

My current prod app is facin issues with multiselect.

Even though I have set multiselect as false still the edit  modal acts a bit weird.

the top grid is the master grid on click of which i open up the bottom grid and when i select any row it always opens up the top row for edit. also it is sort of multiselecting the other rows as well..

any advise in this regards will be very helpful
