jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid - Topic: Form Edit help

Well really i don't know what exactly is going on. There is a pretty good tutorial that explains how to set up the basic grid, and it explains what most everything is. And then it seems the jump from there to everything else is for people who really know javascript. All i know i learned in the last 4 months from just playing around and reading things online. What do i need the editurl to be? does anyone have an example of the full working script and the php code with a little explanation?

The main things i would like are the ability to delete a row, and edit a row and have a dropdown in the search bar. . . but in all my playing around i can't get any of them to work. I've gotten the buttons to appear and it acts like its going to work, then nothing happens. And when i try a dropdown it just displays nothing instead.

I have set up a grid that gets data from my database and i have the search bar that works with text input (i can't figure out how to get the select dropdowns, when i try the spot just goes blank. but i'd like to get it working, but thats less important.) I want to be able to edit a line in the form menu and i got all the ColModel stuff set up and got all the dropdowns being populated from an ajax request and the form comes up and it will let me edit and it all looks great. Then i click save and it does nothing.

I tried adding an script in the editurl that proceses the information, but i think i'm missing something. I've tried reading everything on the wiki and i have tried searching the forum. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how i can get the edit form feature working? I'd also like any help with getting the dropdowns to appear in the search bar.
