Not sure if I understand right, but you can ose formoptions with rowpos and colpos properties.

I love jqGrid more and more every day. Excellent!

My Data Layer is now setup for jqGrid. jqGrid has a consistant look and feel. Now I have a need to show a single row in a vertical orentation (Form Edit).

Is there a way to use Form Edit as a row editor WITHOUT the tree.

I would like it to use the same data and look and feel as the rest of my jqGrid pages.

I was going to add this to feature request, but possibly you can already do this.
