We allways add a href tag independend from the value. If you do not like this behaviour maybe you will need to write your custom formater, where you can do what you want.

However, sometimes, there's no value for that cell and thus there shouldn't be any hyperlink. I am returning a blank empty 0 length string for those cells. When this happens, the grid draws wierd, it doesn't render the bottom line of the cell.
