I am a new user to jqgrid, having inherited a project that I am now maintaining.  We use jqgrid to allow editing of cells to be saved into a backend db, and generally it works.  However, we have found that if there are spaces in the column_name, then the edited values do not get POSTed in the key:value pair like when there are no spaces.

We are using jqgrid 3.7.2, and I'm testing on FireFox 3.6.13.  FireBug showed me that the critical key:value pair is not getting sent (although all the other variables being POSTed via beforeSubmitCell() are being sent).

Any ideas would be appreciated.  I haven't seen any documentation saying spaces can't be used, and the basic jqgrid examples do have spaces in them.
