The PDF documentation specifies that the getCell function requires a column number and not a name but according to the "on line" Documentation the getCell function can now accept an ID or a Name as the setCell function does.

I've tested it out and version 4.3.2 works great with a name.

Hi,

Much of what I do with this grid depends on knowing the column ID of any column.

The names of the columns never change but the ID's will change if columns are inserted or for some reason the ID's changed after adding a sub grid.

In any case, if I could determine the ID of any column by specifying the name it would solve my problem.

Can any one suggest the best method of getting the column ID required to get its content with getCell(rowid, col) for instance.
