so the datatype option i can use it to call a function? I wasn't sure what you meant by your reply, let me know if this is correct please.

Hi, I've been looking at JQGrid on and off for many months. The one thing that I have not seen and was hoping that someone can direct me to is how I can grab dynamic data without having to make a GET/POST call via the URL option. I have events in place that currently retrieve data, I want to know if it's possible that I can call some other option other than URL to retrieve my data.
