I have found the problem.

This in in jqGrid 4.5.4

What was confusing was that demos pages showing e.g. features new to 3.7 had this in, but the page is obviously using the most up to date grid.

I am using jqGrid 4.5.2, and have links to the relevant css and js files

When I view the page source – the td with class="ui-search-clear" has not been added.

Just looking at my css files and can't find a reference to the class!

Maybe I have wrong version somehow!

Hello,

Be a sure you have replaced the css and language file from the last version.

Clear the browser cache and try.

I love jqGrid and have everything working as I would like including using the filter toolbar.

One problem I have is that I can see examples in the demo section with a clear icon next to each filter search box and others without..

I can't get it to appear and I can't find info on how what switches this on or off.
