This function should be called before saving the data. I don't know if that's what you need, but it seems a good solution.

I was hoping some opne could help me.

I am using row edit in jqGrid, everything works. What would like to do is to when the user enters the value in cell and hits enter, the edit url checks if the session is active or not and accordingly adds or updates the database. how do I get the response back to the grid to the user is session is dead and use must logon again.
