I noticed when I typed the tags literally in the wysiwyg editor, it did something interesting.. trying again as a test:

            var lastsel;
            jQuery("#list4").jqGrid({
                    datatype:   "local",
                    height:     250,
                    colNames:   ['Inv No','Date', 'Client', 'Amount','Tax','Total','Notes'],

... etc

So far the easier solution I've found is writing in the <pre> tags using the HTML editor and then posting any code litterally. Using the '< code >' tags will not format new lines or whitespace as they are represented in my editor. Is there a preferred way to paste code into the forums when referencing questions?
