I have installed the firebug Firefox plugin to help me figure out what is being passed and posted.

I'm surprised that jqGrid does not post the column index names when the grid tries to load or refresh.  It would be nice for the php script to know what columns the grid wants when it initially loads or you press the refresh button.

I suspect that you can tell jqGrid to append the column index names to the post data, i just don't know how.

How do i append all the column index names to the post data when the grid initially loads or refreshes?

In Google Chrome you can enable resource tracking to see what is going on behind the scene.

I was wondering if are column index names are automatically passed to php when editing or adding?

Or do i haver to manually pass them through the jqgrid url or editurl options as parameters?
