Maybe this is already in jqgrid and I just have not seen an example. Suppose I want to pass a message back to the client after an add/edit/delete for whatever reason... for example the server is down. An alert-style message would popup on the in the users browser. Actually in my case I want to be able to report that you cannot add/edit a record because one of the columns must be unique and they entered something that is not unique.

Does this functionality already exist? If not it might be a useful addition to an awesome tool!

By the way, is the server supposed to send anything back to the client after add/edit/delete?

Thanks.

Dean
