In order to be clear. jqGrid does not give ready solutions but methods to do what you want. This can be easy done with little programing and using context menu plugin.

Flow steps:

1. on right click

2. a menu will appear with check boxes

3. menu contain all the defined fields / columns

4. by deselecting it will disappear fields/columns from the grid

5. grid is with less or maximum fields now represented.
