Specially for "date" type ( datetime is not available in any browser yet ).

That is the same functionnality than text but can automatically use html5 datepicker.

I think it's just authorizing "date" value ( edittype: 'date' ) and treat it like "text" in jqgrid.

Furthermore, this could facilitate integration of jquery datepicker if html5 "input type date" is not available in browser version ( with modernizr or other ) without adding a single line on the colmodel ( which is long enough 🙂 ).
