It's description says:

This option has effect only if the caption property is not empty and the hidegrid property (see below) is set to true.

I would like to use this even on a grid without a caption and the hidegrid button.

The idea is to create the grid in a static page, but load the data immediately when the grid appears using javascript instead of static settings.
