Hi,

I think I can help if You will tell me what to do.

You are the boss here.

I have some suggestions: maybe columns should be defined in xml in special header. I think it can be handy. Creating table header (and rest of table) could happen after getting data in xml. What do you think about it?

Regards

Piotr Roznicki

Hello,

I like any extension that can be usefull for other users and for me too.

If you want you can send me the code to: tony at trirand dot com.

About the secnd request - yes this is possible and really need a reingenering of code, but when more people work on this it will be better.

Thank you very much

Regards

Tony

I have prepared additional form (extension) for great jqGrid component.
With this extension user can choose visible and unvisible columns from grid.

It can be done by simple clicking in front of column name on list triggered by any element.
I like Tony's code and this is my first attempt to use style of coding similiar to his.
Check it out and You can put it into next release of great jqGrid.
I'm thinking about additional feature - changing columns name - do You think it can be handy.
It's only about 4 more lines of code.
I hope i'll prepare more extesions if You like this one.

I'm thinking about posibiliy to provide colModel and colNames in xml with data. As i can see today it is impossible
because populating data (and downloading xml contents) happens after creating table header.

What do You think about this feature? Is it possible to do?
I know this needs reenginering a lot of code.
