I need to handle the case, where a user is selecting from a "large" set of data.

Ie, he may have to search and find a record thats in a 20K set of records. So My thinking is, I want to be able to pop up a grid if he is editing that field. Any thoughts? 

I need this in two cases, selecting one, and in the habm relationshiops,

selecting multiple. 

Anyone got any recomendations?
