Putting the docs into a wiki instead of a read-only format like the one you've used would make it easier to keep up-to-date and searching much easier.

I just spent a couple of hours debugging the altRows problem that had already been identified and fixed because the fact that this bug was known and that there was even a new release post 3.2 that fixed were difficult to find (until you know where to look.)

I would be willing to help with this as I have set up wikis many times, including http://warengine.darktortoise.com by way of example. Perhaps Reg and I could work together on that?

Hi Tony,

I have to admit it never occurred to me that you would have transferable source docs -- pluis I wanted to be sure I could deliver if I took on this task before promising something that was too much.

I am using Westwind's HTMLHelp Builder - not free, but not expensive either.

About sharing, one way is to have one place/person responsible for gathering/editing everything and making it public. Other contributors can submit ideas and docs for inclusion, but one person is responsible for making sure the formatting and editing is consistent. If you want me to take on that role, I would certainly be prepared to contribute the time it takes.

The alternative is to set up a wiki so anyone can contirbute directly (that's beyond me). The results are perhaps quicker for everyone to view, but someone still has to review, after publication, what has been added or changed.

It's your choice.

Reg

You have made a great job. Thank you.

I have a question - why do you not ask me for sources of the docs?

I make it with a great HelpMaker (free software). Now I will think how to synchronize this. Of course you have make a great additional topics which I like them.

Myabe we should found a way to make the docs public and changed by other users. Will think about this.

About the PayPall - will add it soon.

Again thank you for the great job.

I will write you soon again

Regards

Hello Tony,

jqGrid is saving my butt on a very important project

I don't see a PayPal link to make a donation

You have mentioned in several posts that you are having trouble with the documentation because English is not your first language

If you will let me, I would be very happy to contribute by assisting with the documentation. I have made a start to show what I can do -- it is nowhere complete but it would be good know that you would be happy with what I am doing and how I am doing it before I spend any more time on it.

I have copied everything from the existing documentation (most of which lost all its neat formatting in the copying), cleaned up some of the topics, corrected some of the English, and added some new topics based on what I've seen in this forum (content is not yet cleaned up, but the idea is there).

You can see what I've done so far, at http://www.secondpersonplural....../index.htm.

I am open to to handling any way you wish. As I say, jqGrid is a fantastic product and I want to see it grow and if I can save you time for developing by doing some of the clerical work for you, I would be happy to.

Reg
