I'm having a similar problem - I am using the autowidth: true option, and the toppager does not conform to the width as the rest of the grid does.

Using those two lines added in GitHub allows me to set the width to a specific value to match the rest of the grid, but does not seem to work with autowidth:true.

I have a grid using autowidth to fit the user's browser window width. I have attached a resize handler to the window which sets the new width for the grid, when the window is resized. This works very nicely. I have also activated the top pager using the option toppager: true. Its width however is not set when calling setGridWidth. As a workaround, I have added code for manually setting the toppager's width in my resize handler. But I believe this is a bug in jqGrid and should be fixed there.

Great product by the way. It really integrates well with ASP.NET MVC and works outstandingly.
