Totally agree.Sorry to be to short in the last problem description.

I don't have a public webpage to do a prof of concept of it, but the problem is simple to reproduce.

I have a column like this :

{

name: 'Country', index: 'Country', align: 'left', sortable: true,
                 editable: true, edittype: "select", editoptions: { value: GetCountries() }, width: 160,
                 searchoptions: { sopt: ['cn', 'eq', 'bw', 'ew', 'nc', 'ne'] }
},

When the page with the grid is loaded, the column HTML is the following :

<td aria-describedby="list_Country" title="Hungary" style="text-align:left;" role="gridcell">Hungary</td>

And the GetCountries returns:

56:Belgium;276:Germany;348:Hungary;

724:Spain;752:Sweden

When I press edit. The window with the selected record is totally populated, but the dropdown selected value is Belgium instead of Hungary.

This problem only occurs with IE (tested with version 8 and 9). With firefox and Chrome the Hungary is automatically selected on the edit.

This is a bit stranger. Because in some of my controllers it works at the second time I open the edit window (IE behaviour). Other controllers with exacly the same implementation, i can press the edit button several times and the saved value is never selected in the dropdown select box.

I have changed to jqgrid src with all the bug fixes.

I find as well. But the value in editoption should work as well. In the example, the value is set inside editoption. Also the defaultValue for select is not working. New issue:)

The search for drop down list is empty. It doesn't pick up anything in editoptions. Work well in 3.8.2. Any advice on how to fix it.
