trigger("reloadGrid") reload grid with the current data (if there are no other explicit settings to postData). Also I will say check what you return from server.

This can even be force by calling clearGridData(true) and then call trigger("reloadGrid").  That reload grid call will never produce the proper record counts, which will then in turn prevent you from viewing any of the data on subsequent pages in the result list.
