Actually, now it seems to be working. I forget what I changed, but I might have been using a bad version of jqgrid. Thanks anyways.

How look your server response with 0 records. Which version of jqGrid do you use?

If the server successfully returns data, but the data happens to have 0 rows, jqGrid perpetually displays a "Loading..." message.

A dataset with 0 rows should behave the same way as any other dataset.
