You will need just to get the length of the selarrrows array jqGrid parameter. See docs

this is anjaneya , i am using jqgrid version 4.4.1 and in my project we are using more than 10jqgrids which shows diff type of data , i want to display how many rows selected in a jqgrid . for that i want to wrote a plugin to display no of selected rows which is not depend on particular jqgrid , can u suggest me how can i extend jqgrid methods to write a plugin which is useful to all my jqgrids .i need replay as soon as possible .
