Indeed I have more details concerning my Issue. It looks like the problem comes from the definition of the selected Item.

in DB a record has 101 as a value that correspond to 101:Type the editoptions

When I edit the corresponding line in jqgrid, the selected Item in the select drop down is in fact 22:Type.

If I save the modifications (even if no new item is choosen from the dropDown) 22 will be saved in DB.

As far as I can see this is a dangerous bug.

I can imagine that jqGrid has problem with select (dropdown) having the same texts and different ids. Tony can answer on your bug request.

I want only explain you that your example has not much sense from the user point of view in my opinion. I don't understand how the user be able to choose the corret "Id" or "Icon" item if he see multiple items? Moreover a dropdown list having about 100 unsorted items is terrible in my opinion. I recommend you to redesign the corresponding column of grid. It can be that you try to display information which can be better devide in two columns: category and subcategory. I am not sure what kind of information the grid should display. Nevertheless my personal opinion is that you should not use the editoptions with value from your question.

I have a grid with inline edit.... working well so far

the problem is that the value option of editoptions has Items with the same label (the id is unique)

For some reason when I pick up an Item from the drop down, jq grid is going to always pickup the first Item. In the exemple in below if I choose Item 11:Id that's in fact 1:Id that is going to be written in db
