Thank you for this. This is true. Our demo is very old. Currently we are on the stage to make all new demo which will be easy to install and use. We expect this to happen very soon.

Only documentation I have seen was in the readme file.

Copy the files to web server and open jqgrid.html via web browser.Execute the database.sql script in MySQL server.Enter the appropiate information in dbconfig.php.To make this work you must create database griddemo (or what you want).

Was hoping for more documentation. 

My initial issues show that the  the demo is missing a few parts.

In particular:  jquery.js is not in the demo or jqGrid 4.6.0 

In the  jqgrid.html dataset there is a script that links to "http://ui.jquery.com/themeroller/themeswitchertool/"  that does not exist.
